JUNE 2022 NEWSLETTER
President's Note
What a year! We have much to be proud of. So many rolled up their sleeves and contributed to the success of the guild this year. We are financially solvent and we have a full slate of leadership for next year. What an energetic group. We may be small but we are mighty!
I would like to send some shout outs!
To Marianne Caporale -- The Open House was lucrative and a total win in large part due to your efforts. The way you organized and priced items, it made all the difference. Your guild owes you a huge thank you.
To Jen Burke -- Thank you for organizing such interesting speakers and covering for me when I was unavailable for a few months. You carry such a challenging work load caring for others and you still made time for your guild. Thank you so much.
To Sarah Reindel and Elizabeth Young -- Thank you for stepping in to help with a meeting place. Our first meeting in person was not ideal to say the least and you really helped us connect with Covenant. What a wonderful meeting space and the Open House was great too.
To Angela Brandt -- Thank you for the running the challenge and organizing the display quilts for the open house. It is great to have your vision and input. The quilts made the open house look wonderful.
To Kathy DeCarli -- Thank you for stepping in and calling the members to organize a board. That was amazing. I was sincerely worried about the guild and your initiative, calling and drumming up volunteers was exactly what was needed.
To Bob DeCarli -- Thank you for keeping us informed with the newsletter and for organizing some excellent sew along events. I know how much work that is and it is appreciated. It provided a great way for us to connect when connecting in person was not feasible.
To Ellen McMillen and Cindy Vognetz -- Thanks for organizing our getaway this year and helping to make things feel normal. I personally had a wonderful time and I sincerely appreciate you staying on top of changing conditions.
To everyone who lead and worked at the Open House -- Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am so sad I missed it or I would have personal shout outs for everyone. But know that I am thankful and impressed with how successful it was.
To the new board members:
I am so excited for next year. Thank you for volunteering and I know the out going members are hear to help in any way.
Programs
Our June meeting will be our postponed celebration of our 35th anniversary. We will have a cake to celebrate (depending if the church’s mask policy at the time of the meeting) and a show and tell. Do you want to show your first quilt? Your pandemic finishes? Your favorite quilt? Please bring a quilt or 2 for show and tell.

Bits and Pieces From The Sewing World
1. WELCOME to QuiltFest Virtual Schoolhouse #3
The third QuiltFest Virtual Schoolhouse will take place, ONLINE, November 2-5, 2022.
Mancuso Show Management is no stranger to online quilting and textile arts seminars. We've learned that many students enjoy learning new and exciting techniques from the comfort of their homes. The great strength of this platform is that both instructors and students do not have any country borders or cultural barriers to their participation from around the world.
Put on the tea and get comfortable in your PJs and slippers, and join us for another of the Virtual Schoolhouse series. More information to come.
