This guild calendar year is almost at a close. What an awesome year!!! We have some outstanding positions to fill on the board. It is so much fun to get involved and work with your quilter friends. I hope that you would consider volunteering to work on my team. We need:
- Membership Chair: This requires someone who is organized and is available to attend most meetings. It is not a huge time commitment. It has an advantage that you get to be the smiling face that greets everyone as they attend the meetings. It is a great way to get to know everyone.
- Program Chair Deputy: This person would shadow Leslie O'Brien this year helping organize the programs. Then they would take over next year in scheduling speakers and activities. This job requires a bit of work in the summer months to schedule speakers, and then you would need to attend the meetings to introduce the speakers and make sure they have what they need. Leslie has resources that she will pass onto you that will help you find speakers.
I have actually held both jobs and I strongly feel that they are a great way to get to know your other quilters. When you are program chair you also get to decide what types of speakers we invite. I hope all of you would consider doing these jobs, but I especially want to encourage some of the newer members of the guild to volunteer. You new members were very helpful at the quilt show and we want to get you involved to bring in some fresh ideas. Please call me at anytime to ask questions or let me know if you are interested. There is one requirement, you need to be a guild member for at least two years so for those of you that just signed up this fall, you are not eligible this time around.
I look forward to working with you. This guild year was very successful and well organized, we will continue this next year. If any of you are hesitant to volunteer because you are nervous of the responsibility, I just want to alleviate those fears. I have a very experienced team already in place, and we will do everything we need to ensure you are successful at your job. Take a chance, it will be so much fun.
Happy Quilting

I'll be glad to accept any pillowcases you have made at our next Guild meeting as it will be our last meeting until September. If enough members would like to make some over the summer, we can wait until September to sent off what we have so far to Penn State Hershey. We are open to suggestions for next year's charity work. We can continue with the pillowcases, go back to Quilts for Kids or perhaps you know of another worthy endeavor. Bring your thoughts and suggestions to Guild. A big thanks to everyone for the wonderful pillowcases made over this past year.

I have a friend who is downsizing and has a quilt for sale. I thought perhaps someone might be interested. I have not seen it, but it probably is queen size. She has an embroidered quilt and 2 shams that she would like to sell. It is an antique, but never used and is cross-stitched in green and red, but is not a Christmas quilt. I have not seen it, but you can contact me and I will pass on her name and phone number. Marian Stevenson, 610-558-3896 or semirv39@aol.com.
